Abstract

La tecnologia dedicata al reperimento ed alla disseminazione delle informazioni territoriali fa parte integrante della nuova infrastruttura di veicolazione della conoscenza, completa e immediata, costituita dalla rete e dall'insieme dei sensori che operano connessi a livello globale con essa.

Satellite Earth Observation's new scenarios and trends

Remote sensing by satellite has been at the beginning of this third millennium, a boost that it has expanded the potential technical  and  operational  deployment as a tool in a very wide number of fields, civil  and  military.  Already  the  first  ten years  have  seen  the  consolidation  of important  trends:  the  gradual  integra-tion with the Internet, the multiplication of missions and then the data sources, the expansion of radar technology over the traditional vein, the gradual increase in the demand for performance from a changing audience. These processes at work  in  the  next  decade  will  be  to  re-spond with the solutions currently in de-velopment and focusing on the require-ments for the next generation of satellite platforms. Despite the unfavorable eco-nomic  conditions  from  the  perspective of the international economy, surely will be given a definite answer.
